Quick Questions mit Yves Marchon
Es gibt so viele interessante Skater in der Schweiz. Viel zu viele um sie alle in unserere drei Ausgaben pro Jahr zu quetschen. Desshalb haben wir uns entschieden in regelmässigen Abständen eine Rubrik unter dem Namen Quick Questions zu schalten. Die Flatspot Prominenz wird dabei nach ihrem momentanen Befinden gefragt und natürlich wird es auch immer ein paar nette Bilder dazu geben. Die ersten vier Fragen gehen an Yves Marchon, einen Filmer und Skateboarder der es in beiden Sparten zu viel Ansehen gebracht hat. Wohingegen sein Ruf als Filmer mit Videos wie dem Element Europe Video stark gestiegen ist, wissen viele nicht, dass er auch ein ausgezeichneter Skateboarder ist.
Yves, tell us, you travel a lot… Where do you actually live?
I am quite a lot on the road… maybe two weeks per month or something like that. This summer I will be 8 days in Germany, 8 days in England, 10 days in Switzerland for a Swiss/ Austrian tour. Then straight into a 2 weeks trip to Finland. In September, France and Portugal. The deadline for the new Element Europe video “Travel Well” is set for the end of October and it’s all gonna be in high definition. Because there are not so many filmers around filming on HD, I want to be out there with the guys filming as much as possible in order to give all the riders the opportunity to come up with good parts.
I currently live in Barcelona which is the ideal city to be at the moment for me. Here I have the opportunity to go out and skate good spots every day, film with whoever is around. I can also go out for a walk in a park, museums, art shows, etc. It’s good. I am taking Spanish lessons here and there too.
What are you currently doing for Element?
Officially I am the filmer/ editor/ media coordinator for Element Europe. Then I do a little bit more for them such as helping the TM on tours, I drive the van when needed, helping planning trips, etc.
Is it true that the Element Team has been cut? There are Rumors that claim that Saario, Jo and Evelien are off the team…
The times are hard with the “crisis” and the rumors go along with it. We just had a team meeting last week in France: Janne, Jo and Evelien are definitely on and working hard for the video. Jo is gonna have a banging part for sure! He is so productive…
Is there something in the pipeline for 242?
I just finished “I Campioni”. It was a fun video to make. We had all these private jokes with Italian movies so it made sense for us. I don’t know if people got it but it was refreshing for me. I loved making “Les Magnifiques” three years ago. It all came together so easy. It’s one of my favorite video I made. I have more projects I wanna do with Element as well, they are my homies too so we will see how it goes after “Travel Well”. If I come back to Switzerland I really wanna make a full length video with my friends at 242… It might take a while though.
